As of tonight, there is a FIRST GRADER in the Barlow home!!! Looking back on the school year, my favorite memory is from the first week of school...take a look!
Isaac's Cinderella Project
For this project he had to color and cut out the pumpkin, glue it to paper, and add some details. Notice Cinderella's big FROWN. When he was done our conversation went something like this:
Me: "Isaac, is this supposed to be Cinderella?"
Isaac: "Yes."
Me: "Well, why does she look so sad?"
Isaac: (in a very 'matter-of-fact', 'don't you know anything?' kind of voice) "Uhhh...because she has to ride to the ball in a PUMPKIN!"
Touché, little man!!
Isaac wasn't required to participate in graduation tonight, he attended an online school so participation in events like this are not required. Ultimately I decided to drive the half hour (there and back) to have him participate in the 10 minute ceremony so we could send Daddy some pictures to Afghanistan. It was worth it, those kids were SO cute!
As they were being handed their diplomas, each of the graduates were asked what they want to be when they grow up. Isaac without hesitation said, "A PARENT!", loud and clear right into the microphone. So sweet! I love him so much! The whole room immediately burst into Ooohs, Ahhhhhs, and lot's of laughter. Isaac was very proud of the crowd's approval.
Here's to my graduate! I am one lucky Mommy!!
